The Project this month works with a product not normally used for sewing, however, it makes a great Tote Bag Lining – House wrap commonly referred to as Tyvek or Rex.
I’ve combined the house wrap with the Montavilla Tote Bag Panel to make a Quick, easy, and sturdy Tote Bag. This is a great basic tote and works well for directional fabrics. I’ll demo two easy ways to make Box Bottoms and easy tube turning. The Tote is easily sized. Bonus – Bring your finished Tote on your Montavilla shopping trips and get an additional 5% off!!!
If you are not in the Portland Metro area and/or don’t have access to the Montavilla Tote Fabric Panel, I’ve included the Fabric needed if using your own fabric.

Hi I'm PJ
Since 2006 I’ve been a teacher at Montavilla Sewing Centers in the Portland Metro area. I design, produce and teach the monthly projects for Babylock Serger Club, Janome, BabyLock and Brother Machine Embroidery Club, and 8” Block of the month Club.
I have a lot of fun creating projects, designs, and patterns that incorporate techniques and products to encourage the students to get the most out of their Sergers or Embroidery Machines.
