A few months ago, I saw a student packing up after the club, and they didn’t know whose cord was who’s. This month’s project, Cord Tags, will solve the problem! The Cord Tags use one of my favorite Office Products, Avery Multi-Use Labels. You can write on the labels with a standard Sharpie Marker and erase them with alcohol or a White Pental Eraser.
I’ve made three sizes: Small, Medium, and standard. The standard size has four stitching options.
OESD Sparkle Vinyl and Kimberbell Embroidery Leather work nicely for this project. Also, Bias cut fabric* works well for the Front and Lining. If you want to save time, you can use Packaged Wright’s Extra Wide Double Fold Bias Tape; when pressed flat, it is the perfect width for the Lining. The Cord Tags stitch quickly, are very handy, and make great presents.
Techniques this month: Working with applique, Snaps, and OESD’s Perfect Punch.

Hi I'm PJ
Since 2006 I’ve been a teacher at Montavilla Sewing Centers in the Portland Metro area. I design, produce and teach the monthly projects for Babylock Serger Club, Janome, BabyLock and Brother Machine Embroidery Club, and 8” Block of the month Club.
I have a lot of fun creating projects, designs, and patterns that incorporate techniques and products to encourage the students to get the most out of their Sergers or Embroidery Machines.
