The project for October and November is a Bog Coat -
This coat or jacket is made from a single rectangle of fabric and has no pattern. The coat is straightforward to cut and construct, with only two basic seams. The basic coat can be made in a few hours. I'll have samples that show a few collar additions and variations of the basic coat. This is a perfect serger project because you can use your serger to finish the edges with decorative thread or wave stitch.
For the October class, we will determine the yardage you need based on a few simple measurements. Depending on your measurements, your Bog Coat can be any size or length.
In the November class, you will construct your coat.
Techniques this month: Making a bog Coat Pattern
Hi I'm PJ
Since 2006 I’ve been a teacher at Montavilla Sewing Centers in the Portland Metro area. I design, produce and teach the monthly projects for Babylock Serger Club, Janome, BabyLock and Brother Machine Embroidery Club, and 8” Block of the month Club.
I have a lot of fun creating projects, designs, and patterns that incorporate techniques and products to encourage the students to get the most out of their Sergers or Embroidery Machines.
